Dick Francis books are nice easy reading, and usually a murder mystery, although often with other crimes too.  All centred around horsey things.  I'm not a horsey person, but they're great books!

To name but a few, but anything by Alex Kava, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Karin Slaughter, Tess Gerritsen, Kathy Reichs, Lisa Gardiner, Mo Hayder.....I could go on, but I think I had better stop!

Oh, and how could I omit Agatha Christie - I know they are dated, and not very gruesome, but they still keep me guessing!

Anything by James lee Burke,Henning Mankell.
I like Agatha Christie type murder mysteries too.
Question Author
Patricia Cornwell, Robim Cook, and i dont know the author of the book but it is really good.  the book is Murder My Sweet.
I have very similar taste in reading material to katejess but I also enjoy Greg Isles, Val McDermid, Harlan Coben, Jeffrey Deaver and Matthew Reilly who writes brilliant suspense/action movies with a twist.
Julesy.

Oh Julesy, I have read all of them too (except Matthew Reilly - whom I shall now seek out!), but just left them off the list for fear of going on too long!

I think you and I should compare notes sometime!

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie is without doubt the best murder mystery I've ever read!
