Inspired by adrianben's thread below, and giveup's thread about who has read Les Miserables ...

Books you keep telling yourself you will get round to reading ...

And books you have no intention of ever bothering with ...

One day, I will get round to reading ...

Proust - Remembrance of Times Past, or Lost, etc

War and Peace

I have no intention of ever bothering with ...

Les Miserables

Any more Dickens, or Austin

Optimist..............you'd need to be to read either of them.
I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I cannot read the classics, I find the style of writing too convoluted. If it hasn't been written in the last 100yrs there is very, very little chance of me picking it up.
I have no intention of reading anything under the "you really ought to read" heading. I only ever read for pleasure and if its not brilliant and un-pu-downable within the first pages it goes to the charity shop.
un-put-downable
Nox, if I read, I only read chick lit, can't concentrate on anything too complicated (attention spam of a gnat). When I used to go to the library I would choose a book on its cover and font. Worked for me!
I'm reading The Professor by Charlotte Bronte at the moment, excellent, I've no intention of reading the 50 shades or anything else they're spewing out of the erotica factory now. I do need to read some Richard Castle, the Rick Storm/nikki heat series, I'm watching a couple on ebay
Sheerardk:
When I saw that you were posting on "I have no intention of reading . . ", I expected that you'd write 'parenting manuals', on the grounds of a lack of need!
;-)
Buenchico - thinking of writing my own, but it would be along the lines of 'just get the bloody baby in the buggy, it doesn't take two of you to sodding do it' - don't think it would sell tough :(
^ though
I'd buy a copy, Sherrardk!
Even if I didn't find it 'informative', I've no doubt that I'd find it 'entertaining'!
The Da Vinci Code et al.
