Books you keep telling yourself you will get round to reading ...

And books you have no intention of ever bothering with ...

One day, I will get round to reading ...

Proust - Remembrance of Times Past, or Lost, etc

War and Peace

I have no intention of ever bothering with ...

Any more Dickens, or Austin

Anything is the 50 shades series or the Twilight series ;-)
Question Author
You must read the Twilight series. It's fab.
You might like to try "Howards End is on the Landing" can't remember the author and I'm too lazy to go upstairs and get it,but its quite funny.
50 Shades and Harry Potter.
I've read War and Peace...........it was okay.

To be honest, there's probably not much written before the 20th century that I'd consider reading. There are obvious exceptions, such as Thackery's 'Vanity Fair' and the works of Lewis Carroll but there's enough (fairly) modern stuff to keep me going without the need to go back to the past. (And I can't stand Jane Austen!)
Anything there`s a load of hype about - Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, 50 Shades, anything by J K Rowling etc
Reality is 'real' enough for me. I read for escapism, humour, joy, fun.
I avoid fictional misery.
One day I will get round to reading some Dickens.

I have no intention of ever reading any of the shades of grey books.
I actually really like Harry Potter...
No intention of reading any Dickens or Thomas Hardy. Due to English lessons at school.
My 'O' Level books were Cranford and Animal Farm.............nearly put me off for life.
I've read War & Peace, all Jane Austen - and all the Harry Potters, which I absolutely adore. I remember reading Les Mis, but I think I abandoned it part way through.
Angela's ashes. I know enough about poverty-striken Irish Childhoods without reading any more on the subject.
I enjoyed Harry Potter, also the Amber Spyglass series by Phillip Pullman
Love Animal Farm - and 1984. Brilliant!
I loved the Harry Potter books, but hardly ever read. Haven't picked up my kindle since we went on holiday. Should make more effort really but have lent my kindle to someone (to see if they like it).
237sj - I can save you thirty minutes of your life - I used that time to start The Da Vinci Code before the clunky prose and weird plot annoyed me enough to make me give up. The film was lousy as well!.
sandy Angela's Ashes was dreadful............then I bought the follow-up book!!
