Inspired by a suggestion from Ann86.

Do you have any photos you've taken and would like to post here?
They could be from a basic 'point n shoot', a high falutin' DSLR or a scan from a pic taken on an old film camera or maybe just something you snapped on your phone.
Maybe you could give a short account of the circumstances eg. where/why it was taken, what memory/feeling it holds for you.

More photies please folks - don't let this thread fizzle!

Ok, a new one from me and it's a "through the keyhole" game.
So who lived in this house? (Pic taken by me earlier today)
clue: it's music related.

No?
I'm very happy to keep adding as long as it's OK to add snaps rather than quality stuff!
Not sure about your house - it's not Lennon, Bowie or Jagger. I'm probably in completely wrong era.

Anyway this is a picture of a big house in Menorca that I'm very very drawn to. I'd like a lottery win to buy it and spruce it up.

AFAIC snaps are just as relevant and fun so go for it!
As to the house, you're along the right lines - similar era.
The band Television Personalities did a tribute to him, here is a quote:

"He was very famous, once upon a time, now no one knows even if he's alive, but I know where he lives, and I visit him, in a little (house) in Cambridge.
I know where he lives, coz I know where *** ******* lives"
We need a weekly/monthly subject to inspire us to get out with the camera.
OK bit of googling and I've sussed it AP. TBH I don't know him but know the band (obviously). According to wiki he died in 2006.

Great idea MT, why don't you start us off. I have an EOS 1000D but really only know how to use about 5% of its features, an impetus would be welcome.
impetus , does David Baily still use one of those?
Mick, I quite leica you sometimes
Lol, not on this thread, Prudes. I'm trying to limit the puns.
C'mon AP....set us an assignment.
Point taken. Actually I have subscribed to this thread so can see updates but it doesn't appear to show in latest posts. Is there a reason for this and maybe why it's not getting more involvement?
It's over a month old now, so it wont show up in latest posts.
We could grovel to the Ed and ask him to give it special status.

Alternatively , decide on a subject matter and then start a new thread.
Subscribe to the thread prudie, you get an e-mail when any new posts are added, as well as sowing in a separate column under latest posts
Sorry prudie I must have been having a senior citizen moment as I completely miss read your post.
Hi paddywak!

Nice one Milvus. Not really the time of year for the topic to be butterflies and insects, nor spiders thank God.
You're right Prudie. I was planning to go birdwatching at Minsmere this weekend but the snow put me off. I'm getting soft:(
Oh really, did you see my post yesterday about my first ever waxwing sightings? Added a few poor quality pics too (in Twitchers bit)
I did P. Very envious. I have never seen them yet, despite chasing sightings. My neighbour had them in his tree and hedge but I was out. Very sad. Good pictures.
