There's a Matisse exhibition on at the Tate Modern at present - I popped in there yesterday on my way to the Globe but didn't have much time to spare so it wasn't worth paying the exorbitant entrance fee (£18).

Beat me to it Tilly - I was going to suggest a scalpel and cutting mat. You would get nice clean edges which you might not get from scissors.

Hi, Sandy.....go for the sugar paper and a scalpel on a cutting board as suggested. This was an art lesson I did with the kids.....really therapeutic..

Matisse's models seemed to have combined the talents of a contortionist with a certain fullness of figure. I wasn't sure there's be any AB ladies who'd fit the bill
