Hi guys

I have 'catoonised' a pic of a friend and am in the process of using that on a wine glass. However, I am stuck on creating a beige/fawn/flesh tone colour for the face. All the whites and pinks I see are opaque and I really need translucent/transparent. I have searched for a 'beige' paint but to no avail. Any ideas guys where I can get such paint ie translucent white or pink or beige. Thank you

Hi, Maggoty.
I've been following your threads with interest....I have a similar project I should like to have a bash at.

I've looked at the BeFunky website; which tools did you use to cartoonise your photos?

Thanks.

Hi jth.

Its not easy to find LOL. I had to email them and a very nice chap walked me through it. Go to this page http://www.befunky.com/create/, download your chosen photo and then click on the paintbrush icon on the left (second one down?) It then gives you various cartoon options etc. I used cartoonizer 1, which was perfect for me. Now if I can just get the flesh colour. I haven't had time to go through the other answer but scrivens seems to have given me various options. Other than that I will have to stick with dogs :-). x

hi scrivens, have gone through your links (thank you soooo much) but the one I'm really interested in ie http://www.art-paints.com/Paints/Glass/Sundance/Reusche/Flesh-Tint-Transparent/Flesh-Tint-Transparent.html , doesn't seem to have an option to buy it. Am I being thick? Sorry :-)
Thank you very much......I shall now have a play. :o)

How this translates into the paints you are using, I don't know, but any mixed "flesh" colours are usually horrible, I find a good starting mixture in artist's paint is yellow ochre, titanium white, and Quinacridone magenta.

Mmmm - problem is I need a transparent/translucent paint. As its a cartoon even a beige would do but I can't seem to find one.

Oh well, thanks anyway - will keep looking

maggoty; There really isn't such a colour in artist's paints called 'beige' as far as I know. The nearest would be a Naples yellow (light).
I should go to Jacksons Art Supplies; www.jacksonsart.com they have just about everything, you can buy online and they will send also send you an excellent catalogue on request.
