Commodius,capacious,expansive, the tardis,

"The room was surprisingly capacious" would be my suggestion

I quite like the Tardis reference - and capacious....what I am thinking is along the lines of 'Pandora's Box' but it's not that, obviously.

Thanks all - I've used 'We entered the house, so immediately capacious and seemingly constructed with a deliberate ‘Tardis’ effect.' You'll appreciate that the context isn't here!

No that would be 'The Georgian house, set splendidly in its own grounds with stellar views over the neighbouring countryside, so capracious in its three reception rooms, kitchen and the five bedrooms each ensuite with delightful 1970s bathrooms, modernised with such impeccable taste.'

The house being located between a nuclear power station on one side and a ***-house on the other.......
