Novel About Newcomb Family Of Stamford

I remember reading a novel, based on the true story of a daughter of the Newcomb family of Stamford, in the 1970s.

The one-word title was the girl's name, possibly, Julia. I may well be wrong about the title as it was a long time ago that I read the book.

I am very keen to track this book down. Perhaps someone remembers it and can give my details of author and publisher and maybe put me right on the title.
