Was lucky enough to see Chuck Berry with Little Richard and Fats Domino at the Sheffield Arena. It was a brilliant show all round, despite Fats' obvious illness. He was getting over Pneumonia and shouldn't have appeared imho.

ok it was inconsequential whimsy and not rock & roll. but in the rock & roll tradition it did cause a storm of controversy. and it was immensely popular, chuck berry's only number one hit.
his Top of the Slops performance was an salacious drooling of a shady and salacious svengali over teenage girls giggling shyly at the chorus ..... unforgettable
