Does Anyone Know These Books?

I read two crime books (there may be more by the author) in the 1980s.

The titles were just year dates. I think one was 1975, the other 1982 (not entirely sure of the exact title dates).

They were fictional crime novels that included corrupt coppers. The books were written, in the main part, as dialogue only. It was a little like reading a film/play script.

They were excellent - gripping and atmospheric which was very clever considering there was very little in the way of descriptive prose.

I can't for the life of me remember the author's name or any further details. Typing the year dates into Amazon or Google has got me nowhere. Does anyone know of the books by my meagre description?

Many thanks.
