Answering my own question, I've thought of a couple more - "Black Beauty" by Anna Sewell (she died very young) and "The Portrait Of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde was his only novel, though he wrote plenty else...

I thought there was a sequel to 'Gone with...' called 'Return to Tara'. Didn't Margaret Mitchell write that?

It just so happened that I so enjoyed Dracula when I was a teenager I went through all his other books that I could find.

Sdds, you may be thinking of a book called "Scarlett The Sequel to Margaret Mitchell's Gone With The Wind" written by a woman called Ripley, believe it or not. The movie may have been called "Scarlett". Dumb Hollywood stunt imho, but I wish I'd had shares in it.
How about A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. An excellent and highly original book. Sadly the author could not get it published and committed suicide. His mother persevered and the book was published in 1980
If we're talking novels, I think 'The Catcher in the Rye' is JD Salinger's only novel.
