Wolf Hall by Mantel and also, when I'm tired, 'Sourcery' by Terry Pratchett (v. nearly finished). Just begun a Frances Brody crime novel.

The TV Choice.
^^^^ Good one! :)
I didn't know Spike wrote 7 - I read "Hitler-My part in his downfall" & "Rommel - Gunner who?". Funny, easy reads. His observations about Cab Calloway & his CO with leather patches are hilarious - oh, and the blue unction!
Just half-way through Nick Robinson's election diaries, mentiones of Boris are increasing ...

And I have the latest John Grisham lined up next, part of my Christmas gift from youngest born.

Mrs Hughes pronounces it excellent, and she is not usually easily impressed, so I expect it to be enjoyable.
Expanded Universe by Robert Heinlein - THE best Sci Fi Writer - a collection of short stores going back to the 40s. it always annoys me when the suits keep remaking classic Sci fi, usually worse, when there is so much stuff from writers like RH just begging to be turned into film.

His seven volumes are: "Adolf Hitler, My part in his Downfall".- "Rommel, Gunner Who?".- "Monty, His part in my Downfall".- "Mussolini, His part in my Downfall".- "Where have all the Bullets Gone".- "Goodbye Soldier".- "Peace Work".

Ta William51 - I'll look out for them.
Re-reading my signed copy of 'Backwards' Rob Grant (Red Dwarf) I still again have to stop and figure out what is happening forwards.

Just finished After You by Jojo Moyes, the follow-up novel to Me Before You.
Tell the Bees that I am Gone - 9th volume in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon - magnificent
'Erik Satie'. A biography of the composer, by Mary E Davis (Reaktion Books). The puff says;

'This book reveals the ways in which Satie harnessed the power of nascent celebrity culture, and illuminates the profound aesthetic links between couture and culture. It demonstrates the importance of fashion to the rise of musical modernism and properly positions Satie in the centre, rather than at the margins of this major shift.'
have just finished Jamaica Inn by Daphne Du Maurier, a cracking read.

I have just read my birthday book gifts. Because of You by Dawn French and The Storyteller of Casablanca by Fiona Valpy. Just started reading Stay Close by Harlan somebody to see if I like it. Read one of his books last year, but can’t remember the title!
Stephen Fry's 'Troy'.

Carole, 'Stay Close' has been made into a series. It's on Netflix.
Crown and Sceptre by Tracy Borman-history of every King and Queen since William the Conquerer to Elizabeth the second - very interesting.
Naomi - I like Stephen Fry, I tried one of his 'gods' books, possibly the follow-up to yours, I found it far too smirks and pleased with itself, had to abandon it a few chapters in.
