I grabbed a latte on my way to work and at the same time noticed Buy One Get One Half Price on books so I treated myself to The Beekeeper of Aleppo (Christy Lefteri) and The Catch (Harlan Coben). Has anyone ready these and what did you think?

This I can recommend, Anna Seghers was a Jew who escaped from Germany in WW11 to Mexico where she wrote this, which became an instant best-seller in the 40s America & was made into a film starring Spencer Tracy, this is a new translation;

Khando, many escapees / survivors went to Central and South America as did the Nazis who escaped. Dr Mengele was one of them and I believe he was identified by his remains. Others were captured and brought back to trial.

C.j. Samson’s Shardlake series, about a (eponymous) hunchback lawyer in Tudor times. I know, not the kind of thing I would have normally read. It was serialised on the radio and I dipped in and out of the programmes, got reeled in by that. Bagged all seven books on fleabay, currently on book 3 . Recommended, even if you don’t like historical fiction. I found them strangely addictive
