We hear a lot about the new Tate these days. Is it really more than a big tourist attraction?

Yes it is, although there's no escaping the fact that it has made its mark on the tourist itinerary of London, if that's such a bad thing. It's a wonderful use of a fabulous building, the kind of thing usually done very half-heartedly in Britain - especially if it's got anything to do with art.
