Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

its quite simple who the half blood prince is.j.k.says it isn't harry or voldemort which leaves a couple people in my mind but all but 1 is eliminated.

im the second book dobby says that voldemort wouldn't be doing the evil deeds at hogwarts,and he didnt.it was tom marvolo riddle.

voldemort isn't tom riddle,riddle becomes voldemort after he is swallowed into the darkness that he created.

the last clue is in none other but the second movie.when harry fights the basilisk the sword is halfly covered.halfly covered in what you may ask?half blood, henceforth the halfblood prince.that leaves three people.harry who is out of the question since j.k. said so.godric gryffindor:it can't be him since he is presumably dead and if he wasn't he would be considered a king not a prince.and the last is none other than tom marvolo riddle.

i also have proof that sirius is alive and luna lovegood is going to be the one to get him.im me for questions:s/n=givemeadamecond,iemthering.good luck with the 6th book.sorry i ruined the suprise.i am also fond of the mark evans theory.

I�m sorry but joanne said as it is not voldemort it can�t be Tom Riddle. She said so on her web site. And she also stated that the name Evans is just a common name and doesn�t have anything to do with Lilly. So stop writing what joanne said wouldn�t be in the book. I think she has to know what she is talking about.... Go on her site if you don�t believe it.

  we think it is hagrid.he played an important role in the chamber of secrets and we know his father was a wizard and his mother a giantess.so he is a half blood.

Rite i don't know if anyones thought of this yet i couldn't be bothered to read through all 980! but i had a revolation jk daid that the caracter was introuced in the second book and it isn't harry or voldemort and there is is alot of clues the second so beraring all that in mind is there any caracter (introudced in the second) thats full name can spell with the letters swaped around would spell i am the half blood prince or something like that just Tom Marvolo Riddle's name can be swaped round to i am lord voldemort

I'm afraid you're all wrong.  The comments made about the fact that the prince is neither Harry nor Voldermort are perfectly correct, however the character is not a new one.  I work at the Bloomsbury publishing house and as with the other books, we are all issued with the a copy before it is published (16th July 2005).  I can disclose that the Half Blood Prince is in fact Seamus, and of course his role in the plot is hugely increased in the novel.  I hope this clears everything up.

hi. i think that it could be Mark Evans, but this could be a trail that JKR is leading us on. could also be a totally new character that we have neer heard of. voldemort will not die and neother will harry. there would be no plot after that in the next books to come. as we know, there are at least 8 books in the whole series, poss. more. i can't imagine dudley as being the half blood prince, although it would be quite amusing!! anyway, i just can't wait for her book to be released!! only a few more months to go now!! we'll find out soon anyway. please keep replying to this though. i really want to know what people think about it!!

harrylover didn't u read wot veritas said it's semus he/she spoiled it for us and if you read and jk said that mark evans just had that last name by coeicedence and has no relation to lilly and if you must know there is 7 books in the seris not 8 shows how much you know about harry potter read the books again

I like the idea about Godric being the HBP because I don�t believe that veritas is from bloomsbury. There were a lot of people telling they know because of something and i don�t believe them till I�ve read the book, because anyone can say something like that.

well gpotterfan veritas said he/she had a copy of hbp because he/she worked for bloomsbury and said the hbp was seamus so i beleived him/her at first but then i remembered jk said that the hbp was introuced in book 2 seamus was introudced in book 1 i just thought i would set the record straight

JK Rowling had a press conference and decided to tell everybody that the character was introduced in the 2nd book, however this, like the character Mark Evans, is a decoy, that you have all stupidly been taken in by.  Youought to be ashamed of yourself, you call yourselves Harry Potter fans!!

yeah, JKR has ALWAYS kept the storyline, hints, and secrets in her books well....secret. And now after a couple of years she just cracks at a press conference? Hard to believe.
