Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

I think it should be Hermione, because she is a muggle born there for she is half blood or it should be Harry because he is half blood, or you could create a new character.

Dear J.K Roling I have already wrote but in another book I think you should do something to do with the Durlsey's be a bit wizardy, but I know they're muggles and I'am not telling you what to do. And also can you write more books when the Harry Potter series is over? because I would read them.

J.K. Rowling has stated in many interviews that she has left clues in the books and movies for us. That gives me reason to believe that SEAMUS is the HALF BLOOD PRINCE. Why? you ask. It is because that in the book Harry Potter in the Sorcerer's Stone on page 125

Quote: "I'm half and half," said Seamus. "Me dad's a muggle. Mom didn't tell him she was a witch 'til after they were married. Bit of a nasty shock for him." 

Those four sentences make me think it is a clue and that SEAMUS is indeed the HALF BLOOD PRINCE

Maybe I'm wrong, but half blood does not have to mean half muggle half wizard. It could also mean full wizard and, for example, a father who is royal and just a normal, not royal, mother. But I can be wrong offcourse....

There are several different views on this, know_it_all, and yours ha been well pointed. I feel, and I believe others have said this before me, that the line you quoted from the first book spoken by Seamus was a way of giving readers a background into the storyline. To let readers know that people can be magical by the luck of the draw and not necessarily from magical parent's. I am sticking with GG as the HBP because he was the crusader against SS during the earlier Hogwarts years. This would give him the respect and admiration of many who would then treat him as if he were royalty. But we will find out in less than 120 days.

Please everyone also understand there are more then one way of being half-blood beside one of your parents being muggle and the other being a wizard. It was the strangely enough the same waythe nazis could tell if you were Jewish. If your grandparents on one side were Jewish, then the grandchild would be Jewish. This also goes for wizards. And we even expirience with Harry,

But im not saying that harry is the HBP, but it could also work with any other wizard at hogwarts. Both parents could be wizards, but there grad parents could be muggles, makign them half-blood. The bad part is we can't really apply this system with any of the students of hogwarts (besides Harry, who even JKR has ruled out of beign the HBP). But then again, maybe we dont know about anyone else whose grandparents or parents are muggles.

its not voldmort or harry or malfoy so those of you who say it is are wrong in HP5 in sirius's house the is the familie tree that proves that malfoy is a pure blood.

obviously no one reads J.K. Rowlings sites, she says it's NOT harry or voldemort/tom riddle. i do agree it could be hagrid, dean, or seamus. i think it might be seamus because he says that he's half blood. as for Dean, who no's. only 2 months 2 find out!!

gothgurl, if you have read other answers on this site you should know most of the people do know that harry or voldemort e.c. aren't the HBP, but I completely agree with you on the rest of your answer.

Hi, i heard that the half blood prince had been mentioned in the second book and i am starting to think that it is Lockheart. But i hope its not he was too obnoxious for me...

Also in the fifth book, after ron and hermione become prefects, Harry is relieved to hear from sirius that his father wasn't a prefect either....But, in the first book when Harry first talks to Hagrid in the shack Hagrid says that his parents were head boy and girl in their day... Any one have any answers to this?

I have read that in this book there will be more about Narcicca Malfoy and her past. This could be a sign about Draco being the Half-blood prince. I know he isn't a halfblood, but why is there a chapter in Hp & HBP that has his name in it???
