What's the conventional term used to say "I've cropped the image of this painting, but only slightly"?

Here's an example:

1) The Mona Lisa

2) The Mona Lisa (detail)

3) ...but how do I describe this kind of cut?

I can think of ways to say it, but my question is What would be the conventional term used in the art world. How would they phrase it in a catalogue from an exhibition.

Thanks!

Ooooo Neti Stick Woman does look a bit sick after that ride that Vinny put her through but at least she wore her new pvc so she's going in style and that's something!

Today is my youngest aunt's 80th birthday so I've been trying to get hold of her on the phone but the old folk ain't where they're s'poster be. She's the last one of eight sisters and brothers, all the others are gone - can you imagine what that must be like, kid sister all alone. She has a husband and two son's but she misses her siblings.

Her father, my maternal grandfather, was a meat industry enterpriser who became a millionaire at a time when there were only twelve millionaires in all of Sweden and then he contracted syphilis and experienced onsetting dementia probably 'cos somehow the people he did business with managed to trick him out of his fortune before he died. Me being a veggie it is kind of funny, someone I knew stared at me and burst out laughing when I told him this story: "Oh Kit, to think you could have been a Meat Princess!" It's an interesting thought, me heiress of a meat empire...

Aww Shaney she (?) 's adorable, thank you for posting. My sister was just telling me today about one of "their" birds - I've already forgotten if it was the magpie or the crow this time - who comes to drink from their bird bath regularly. Today he was sitting on a fence with a dead mouse in his beak, made a dive for the bird bath, carefully placed the mouse "by the side of his plate" trs dbonnaire while he drank and then picked it up again and flew away. Sis is a bit torn... says all animals are welcome to her garden but she wishes they wouldn't bring their corpses with'em...

Erm, Vinny... has your son had his serious talk with you yet... ;-)

tomorrow will be cooler

Wakey Wakey..!
these lovely sunny days arnt just fer afternoons yer know. What a beaut out there.A young jimmy page just fer you jude..very rare...

tut, bloomin' cheeky hippy
<<<CRACK!!>>>>smashes Mona over sproutman's head>

There you go da Vinny....you've been framed...

G'day each & every (where's Dolly btw?)...
...ooh, booger, think I've done myself a mischief snippin' & clippin' - it's a lot cooler today so I forgot to stop. I might have to sit & watch a bit of daytime diy while I have some medicinal tea & cake....Hopefully I've got some wallpaper for my boudoir coming in a few days, I found it on ebay at less than half the price of B&Q! even with p&p it's still a lot cheaper....knowing my luck it'll be all blurry or have wavy edges.
now....I just need a man who can....

Question Author
And here he is, Robinia. (Love James Taylor, he's like a fine wine, just gets better.) Wallpaper for sale on eBay, talk about "tells a story"...

Yes I was thinking about Dolly too, how you sometimes will say "found you at last" when you drop by, Dolly - you haven't changed your email address have you, so that our new-home-announcements don't reach you? (As if you'd be reading this if you had - stupid Kit.)

That Mama Don't Allow sure stirred some memories for me Vinny - it's just that I can't identify quite what they are, ha ha... I think perhaps Dr Hook & The Medicine Show used to do it on their concerts for a spell there, and I saw them often enough.

You there Woofy? I've written in the lads' new guestbook! But my message didn't appear on the site after I posted it...? Also, are you aware that the counter counts every time you land on the first page, i.e. even when you're just turning the pages back and forth you're counted as a new visitor. (Just thought you might wanna know about that.) The new pictures were lovely and funny!

Speaking of dogs, I'm totally falling in love with Siberian Huskies. I like how talkative they are. Then again, they say the things you fall in love with are the very things that will later annoy you... annoying...?
