I bought this book last week (not started it yet) and then saw it again today with a different cover in the childrens section, is this series going to be along the lines of the Harry Potters, where everyone can read it?

Well not having read it (or even heard of it) up till now I can't say, but there seems to be an adult version, a children's version, a forthcoming graphic novel and a film in pre-production. Sounds pretty derivative: cross Harry Potter (child hero forced to watch his parents die and pursue their killer) with Buffy the Vampire Slayer (unlimited number of aliens to zap, all of whom are completely evil so we won't feel worried that our children are reading about killing all the time).
Oh and it's James Patterson with somebody, usually a sign that we're using the 'big' name to sell the books and the 'ghost' to do the donkey work. I won't be rushing to read it.
