Emmas or Emma's?

If you wanted to write about the father of a girl called Emma, would you write "Emmas father", or "Emma's father"? Writing an essay and could really do with some help. Thanks xxx

"Emma's" is the correct form.
It is indeed 'Emma's' as 's (apostrophe s) denotes 'belonging to' and s denotes 'more than one of' - this is a really common confusion. Hope this helps!
EXCEPT!!! "its" = belonging to it and "it's" = it is.

It's a lovely day today, I hope it's not going to rain. Autumn has arrived, look at that tree; its leaves are brown.
