I recently read Thriller edited by James Patterson and I loved it. I also read Stephen King's short stories and he's awesome. I'd like to find more like that. Thanks

Just reading Chilling Tales from Derbyshire by a local ghost hunter called Netty. Read some of it last night and found it hard to go to sleep for fear of something dragging me out of bed in the dark : > )
Have you read The Bachman Books. A series of stories written by Stephen King under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. The Long Walk being my favourite of his.

I've read everything by Stephen King. He's my favorite author actually. Thank you for the suggestion about Chilling Tales from Derbyshire, too. I think I'll be reading that soon.
I love my ghost stories super....Read them all.
Question Author
I'll probably like them, but it's kinda hard to find anything that creeps me out anymore. I'm a desensitized little sh**.lol
Richard Felix from Most Haunted has books galore on the paranormal, but Netty's Chilling Tales is good.
I am just about to start reading 20th Century Ghosts - a book of short stories
by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son).
This may sound silly but I thoroughly enjoyed Uncle Montague's Tales of Terror. One story in particular was very chilling, even though it was a book aimed at young adults!
Depnds on what you like to read, but 'Ghost stories of an antiquary' by MR James is a classic. Very cerebral and very scary eg 'oh whistle and I'll come to you'....
Jeffery Deaver, has written two short story books, in the same vain as James Patterson. Can't for the life of me remember what they are called, but its something like "The devils teardrop" Both are great.
for a short story, The Tell-Tale Heart, by Edgar Allen Poe is pretty perfect. Eerie, and full of suspense.
The Jeffrey Deaver books are called Twisted and More Twisted.
Yes, Chaffinch, Deaver's first name is Jeffery. Sorry.
the 6 collections called 'The Books of Blood' by Clive Barker are the stuff of nightmares
Twisted and More Twisted, that's right remember now! Jeffery is a strange spelling Chakka!

Thanks you guys, for all the suggestions. You're awesome.
Dean Koontz (sp?) is very similar to Stephen King...
