Coloured Hair Question

Hi

I've had my hair dyed/bleached blonde for about 15 years but decided to go back to my original colour of dark brown so that I could get the condition back. This I did gradually and was very successful, however, no matter how I have my hair cut, it stays very flat. It's extremely shiny now which is great but I just can't get any body into it for some reason. I can't understand why when it was blonde it was lovely and wavy and full of bounce and now it isn't.

Anyone have any ideas of how to get some bounce back?

I know what you mean, my hair tends to be much flatter whenever I go dark - although it does stay mega shiny!
The only thing I do to add a bit more volume is backcomb the roots a bit (not much) and keep in place with a small spirtz of spray.
Oh, and I dry my hair upside down too, which seems to help :-)

You could always think about adding a bit of a curl, which would give it some volume. Obviously that depends on how long your hair is though. Mine's currently fairly short, so curls don't really work... unless I want to end up looking like Brian May!
Get babyliss big hair dryer. Lifts hair on big rotating brush as you dry it. Really excellent results.

Thanks guys!! I'll give my shoulder length hair a treat I think. Fed up with the slick, tidy look as I prefer more of a wild and wavy finish.
Is that like a diffuse?
It's just a big rotating brush on a hair dryer. Can rotate in either direction. So you can get effect that hair stylist achieves with the dryer and a circular bristle brush.

That sounds nifty.

ruthandsam, just thought of something else. Leave out the conditioner, and see if that helps.
Try curling it with straighteners - works for me
I have the opposite problem - my dark hair is thick and bouncy but not very shiny.
you need to get layers cut in
