Hairdressing problems
I seem to have a lot of problems with hairdressers getting them to blow dry my hair to my liking. I have just come back from the hairdressers and as usual have gone straight to my hairdryer to blow dry my hair as I like it. I know it is not a massive problem as the cut always seems okay, but why can they never seem to get it right? I like my hair to have a lot of body and bounce at the top and manage to get this in myself with no problem by using a large round brush to blow dry the top, but no matter how many times I try to explain, my hair always looks flat on top! Does anyone else have this same kind of problem with getting their hairdresser to get the styling right and does anyone have any tips for me to get a hairdresser to get it right for once!

Have you ever gotten them to run the straighteners over it after they have blow dried it, I have the curliest hair and until ghd was common place in the salon I used to leave with my hair wet cause they would always mess it up. Now I love the hair dressers but always get them to straighten it after they have blow dried it.
I have the same problem Sue, now i have found a fantastic mobile hairdresser who is quite happy just to colour and cut my hair and leave it to me to blow dry! And it only costs me 15..x Be honest with them, after all your are paying for the service and should go away happy.. Tell them how YOU want it!! good luck!x
Many thanks for all the anwers, I have tried a few different hairdressers and they all seem to be the same, perhaps it is because 'big hair' is not in fashion at the moment, so they are used to blow drying flatter hairstyles.
I think that getting them just to cut it may be the answer and then I can finish it off myself!

i was at the hairdressers the other week,i was the same as you,it wasnt to my liking too,i came straight out of the shop thought god i hope no one sees me ran straight into mcdonalds, went into the toilet and wet my hair, god it looked like id got a bee hive on my head, wont be going there again, but when she asked me how it was i just said yep its nice, the cut is though,as soon as i got in i washed it and dried it to my liking, think the next time is say youll dry it yourself
I'm a bit late seeing this but I have the same problem, haven't had any hairdresser blow dry it well since the eighties! - As a 52 yr old I like a bit of bounce, flattened hair just doesn't suit me, but I'm not quite at the curly perm stage yet!
I now have a mobile hairdresser like pinkspangle & I wash & dry it myself. Costs about a third of what a salon would charge - as do her her hi-lights.
I'm just trying to pluck up courage to have my hair cut shorter - it's medium (layered) at the moment....!
