Embarrassing problem
5 Answers
ok, when i was about 12 years old i was desperate to get rid of dark facial hair on my top lip so been the age i was decided to shave it off!!.... huge mistake!!! thinking i had solved the problem the hair then grew back darker and thicker within a few days.
Now a lot older i know that shaven hair grows back this way but i am still having to shave this area as the hair grows back so dark and is very noticeable. i've thought about using a bleach on this area but this would mean the hairs would still be very noticeable, just a different colour! i've also tried tweezing the hairs which is another soloution. What i would ideally like to do is wax the area but in order to do this i'm gonna have to grow the hairs back so they are long enough to wax!!! i can't bear the thought of heving to go around with a thick dark 'tache for everyone to laugh at!!!!! does anyone have any ideas on the best soloution until i'm able to wax this area?

I would advise that you bleach it as it comes back, I know this is not ideal but the salon will need something there. Perhaps you could call into your local salon and have a word with them, ask them how long it needs to be, not too long I would imagine.
Waxing is definitely the best solution, I have had my upper lipe waxed for about 15 years and now even when it grows back it is much finer and barely noticable at all.
Go for it, it will be worth it in the end.

I would suggest going to a beauty salon and having electrolysis done. This works by firing a tiny electrical pulse into your skin and killing the root of the hair.
It is also permanent, so although it may take a few sessions to get the whole area done (they can only do a small area at a time), you will be hair free for there forever!
Go to a local beautician and ask their opinion

you can get these things from superdrug (cant remember the name) that sort of sandpaper the hair off, you can get ones for your legs which are called silkymit but there are some that are specifically for your face, they work really well and it doesnt matter how long the hair is, although it does recommend how long to leave it between each time of doing it its basically likr little bits of this sand paper stuff in a packet with a purple handle thing, have tried without success to find it on the website!
Hi, you could possibly bleach the hair every few days until you need it waxed? this way it would be less noticeable until you get it done, but then you would have to grow it every time you need it waxed. Waxing is good and people react differently in different areas so you maybe one of those lucky ones that react really well in that area from the first time you have it done. But if you try it and don't like it then maybe epilation? You can buy epilators from Boots, and use it as often as you like! x
i feel for you as i myself do suffer of the same burden.
i ve started waxing years ago, then had electrolysis a process that takes a long time and lots of money.
I have started last summer a lazer treatment spread over 6 sessions. it is a bit costly but at the long run you will save a lot of money.
the treatment last 5 minutes and it is not painful.
you must visit a reputable beauty salon that specialise in lazer treatment and the personnal must be trained and qualified. so stop shaving, waxing, plucking you only will make it worse. ask for advice as it is not suitable for everyone.
