I seem to have some sort of skin infection on my eyelids (both of them). It started at the point closest to the bridge of my nose and now seems to be spreading outward, its red and dry and slightly inflamed. Have been puting vaseline on them but to no avail, also tried sudo creme but that just stung the be'jasus out of them. Dont know what else to do, but it looks really unsightly.

Any suggestions?

Cant go to doctors as havent registered with one here yet.

thanks

If you can get to a pharmacy, go and ask for a pharmacist's opinion.

Have you been using any different makeup or skincare? I used to break out in an eczema type rash when I used YSL Touche Eclat because it is so full of chemicals!

If you can get your hands on some hydrocortisone cream, it is excellent for eczema type rashes, but use it sparingly as it is a steroid and can thin the skin if you use it too often. It also may be difficult to get if you cannot get a prescription

Thanks chazza, will go to the chemist tomorrow and see what they say. Failing that mrwarpig says that his doctor will see me, so fingers crossed that I will get something to sort it.

thanks

warpig the same thing happened to me few months ago, it was just on my eyelids and no amount of cream would calm it down. I finally discovered it was the eye make up remover i was using. The exact same one i have used for years ( Garnier), they must've changed the ingredients as it really irritated me. I now used a cream based one from Avon. As soon as i stopped using it it seemed to go away! x

Interesting pinkspangle, didn;t think of that and I have started using new eyeshadow. I have stopped putting vaseline on them as I thought I could just be reinfecting the same area. Will see how they get on without any medication for a day or two, at least they have stopped itching. Definintley will not use the eyeshadow again.
Hiya babe,i get the same thing from time to time, its not nice is it?I have to be really careful what i use near my eyes which is a bit of a pain sometimes coz i see lovely looking eyeshadows but i know that i can`t use them, any avon eye shadows, pencils and mascaras are a no-no for me.

Hi cyanide, yeah it was really irritating for a while but seems to have calmed down now. Went to Tesco's today and the checkout assistant really stared at me, was so embarrassed, you would have thought I had the plague! Of course it is not helped by the fact that mrwarpig keeps taking the p*sse out of me either, the scoundrel!

You better get your skates on, mr Jones will be there shortly!!!
Ha,ha i know what you mean you`d think it was leprosy wouldn`t you?I always say in a really loud voice how contagious it is and that i should wash my hands before handing money over to shop assistants, just watch them recoil...ha-ha,i`m sick!
Oh hang on theres someone at the door,i hope its not Mr.jones coz i`m going to buy taps with my dad!!:-0
