My hair colour seems to be fading far too fast... There are loads of shampoos and conditioners out there which promise to prolong the colour but can anyone recommend one in particular? I asked my hair-dresser, the colour technician and the girl who did the shampoo...They all said something different!

Hairdressers usually sell hair products, including shampoo and conditioner. Mine does, and I have bought them but due to lack of finance (they are usually about twice the price of ordinary shampoos and conditioners),I have been using Tresemme which I really like. I did try the L'Oreal Elvive, but that ruined my hair.
Tresemme burnt my head!!! I use the John Frieda sheer blonde..and have done for years. I won't use anything else as it really keeps my hair shiny and bright. And as they do shampoos and conditioners (as well as other products) for brown and red hair also...you're sorted!
The only things you need in a colour shampoo or conditioner are Vitamin E and sun screen. These are the only real barriers in preventing colour fading. Everything else in the shampoo is just marketing.

I would speak to another technician from another salon and see if they suggest something different with the colour set up. If they DO i would go down this route first!
