As a 62yr old female I find my hair is becoming quite sparse, especially on the crown. Can you recommend a product I can use to add thickness to it please?

Regaine for Women, it will restore the hair loss with new hair, however, it has to be used indefinitely or the regrowth will fall out. The product is effective, but expensive.
also velvetee didnt mention that in only works on 10% of women
Well I don't know if that is true Poltergeist!
It's true. Regaine doesn't work on all men, either. It depends on whether there's any heredetery hair loss, where it's occuring on the scalp, how long the condition's been present and other factors.
looks like a bit of back combing is required luv.
coloring thickens the hair.

Most hair-growing products are expensive and only encourage growth where the follicle is still productive.
Ignore BH - : )
That wasn't put very subtly, but it's true that the hairdresser can enhance your style to camouflage any thinning spots!

Thanks for all your interesting answers even Billy-Hunt who suggested back combing which I do. It makes it appear to look thicker but I was looking for something that actually makes it thicker. I thought perhaps there might be a certain shampoo that might do the trick. Will scour the shelves to see what I can find.
Hair loss is natural as we get older. I'm 39 and my hair is considerably thinner that when I was 29.

Perhaps you should visit a Trichologist for some expert advice.

I quite agree Velvetee, it is yet another sign of ageing. It doesn't seem that bad at the moment for me to see a Trichologist but thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Hi missprim. I've been using Nourkrin(now called viviscal) since nov 2006 and regaine since may 2008 and haven't noticed any difference. They're also VERY expensive which would be ok if they worked, but... Let me know how you get on with whatever you decide to do. I'm always interested in hearing of something - anything - that works.
Good luck

Janbee I have decided to first of all try different shampoos and conditioners that promise to add volume.
Have just bought TRESemme 'Healthy Volume for fine or flat hair'
Have only used it once,(this morning) so will have to see how I go with it.Don't want to waste my money buying expensive treatments only to find they don't work,so will just try shampoos instead.
