Both of those links come from reputable bodies, in which I've no hesitation in pointing you towards. The following link is from an American site which appears to be OK to me but, as with any information on the web (where the source isn't an 'official' one), it should be treated with appropriate caution:

This UK site, while 'unofficial', is generally well-respected and probably trustworthy:

Hi prendi,I have and isnt it a pain in the a---! or lower abdomen.I take Mintec or Colpermin peppermint oil capsules 1/2 hr before meals and buscopan now and then if stomach cramps start. If I am going out however I just put up with pain otherwise I am always looking for toilet. On the dietary front just by chance had two Indian curries two nights running, to my surprise all problems ceased.I have been pain free for two weeks with no medication on three curries a week long may this continue.Hope this helps.
thanks smurf ,Jones,do you have pain when you have been to the loo?my pain tends to come after ive been.i have also got a bloated stomach,is yours?just interested to see if my symptoms are the same.i dont have constipation or the runs its quite normal,it was the pain that sent me to the docs and the bloating?
Hi prendi, Have you had diverticular confirmed by colonoscope or virtual colonoscopy?(which I had) if so ok
My pain goes away after going to loo until next lot of digested food arrives for disposal.I do get bloating but buscopan relieves this, luckily I have a dog I can blame it on.Pain starts on right hand side of abdomen then moves to lower left, was so bad I was doubled up in pain.So had scan to find source of problem.
As I said before curries seem to have vastly improved problem.Glad to help with any more info if required
