Sphygmomanometers vs auto blood pressure monitors

Are Sphygmomanometers more accurate than the auto blood pressure monitors assuming that the person taking the readings, etc is a professional?

so , GP'S have not been sending patients for hospital treatment

Sphyg... will record the pressure more accurately than the electric ones but are dependent on the user knowing when the flow stops and restarts. As my GP once said they are not much use if the doctor is deaf.

An accurate Sphygmo is no better or worse than an accurate electric device.
