Lately even after I've slept for the normal amount of hours or more I've been waking up feeling like I've only just fallen asleep. My partner believes it's just because at the moment I'm unemployed so I'm not doing enough and because of that I just feel tired all the time, but my mother believes I should go to the doctor for a diabetes check as it runs in the family (parents always expect the worst!).
I probably will go to the doctor anyway, but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with why this could be happening as I don't want to waste the doctors time if what my partner says is true or something similar.
Could be anything really. Just get it checked, and let the doctor decide. I mean, that could apply to me too, but my reason is way different from those given.
It could also be a symptom of depression which you could be suffering from due to the fact that you are unemployed. It is worth getting checked out. You will not be wasting the doctors time.
Are you sure you have been getting 'proper' sleep? Perhaps you are too hot or cold and not sleeping well.
I get that sometimes and wake up feeling worse than when I went to bed.
are you oversleeping, and not doing enough during the day? I find that if I am not stimulated with things to do, I feel very lethargic. I think if I wasn't working, I would have to volunteer for some voluntary work - I would find it hard to do nothing - but "Tired all the time" is not uncommon. Coincidentally I read a notice in the doctors today which reminded us that fatigue can indeed be a diabetic symptom. Get it checked out, just to set your mind at rest.
