conflict of medicines

I have been taking TAMBOCOR(Flecainide) for over 25 years very successfully for control of palpitations. Recently I was prescribed 2mg of DOXAZOSIN daily for blood pressure and urine symptoms and everything was OK, but then my daily dose was increased to 4mg and since then I have suffered from palpitations again.

Can anyone advise whether there is any known conflict between these two medicines?

I can only guess, but i assume that you are taking Doxazosin for prostate problems rather than high BP.

I can see no reason why the two should interact, but my guess is that the return of your palpitations is a side effect of the doubling of the dose of Doxazosin.

On the Information Leaflet that accompanies the Doxazosin pack it gives "feeling your heartbeat" (palpitations) as a COMMON side effect experienced by between 1 in 10 and 1 in 100 patients.
