Hello again, I'm just back from the hospital. It transpires that the hospital had phoned this morning but my friend told them they couldn't get there straight away as Mum was ill in bed and she (my friend had the grand children, which she does every day). It became clear that the hospital had made a second, more urgent call, to ask the family to be there, so when I arrived her Mum, Paula was there too. My friend's Dad, Dennis, has pneumonia. You can hear the fluid gurgling - it's awful. I had only been there 5 minutes and the nurse came and said they were moving him to a side ward on his own. Paula is 80, and she kept asking that if Dennis opened his eyes would he be OK. The doctor, was explaining to her how ill Dennis is and that they are trying to make him comfortable. She's staying in the hospital with Dennis tonight. I get the feeling that they have moved him to a side ward as they're expecting him to die. Would this be a fair assumption. The siblings will arrive at about 7 pm tonight.
