I have another cold I try to eat healthily do plenty of exercise and yet before we even get into winter I've picked up a cold is there a vitamin I could take that will help prevent getting to many of the blasted things tia
Wash your hands at every opportunity be careful touching doorknobs and other items that the unwashed public use, stay out of crowded places where you breathe other folks exhaled breath.
As woofgang says; wash your hands regularly, especially when getting back home and before eating. Take royal jelly capsules from September through to March (it doesn't matter if you miss some days) or if you like honey eat some local honey.
Colds are picked up by being in contact with another person who is inflicted with the same. I too was once in a situation where I was unable to avoid that continual contact, and I was never free of it.

The answer if and where possible is very obvious. The annual flue jabs are also a great help.
The flu jab has no effect whatsoever on the common cold.
Flu jabs are ineffective against cold (as daffy has just beaten me to saying).
Vitamin C seems to help me, as does Echinacea - I know, I know "it's anecdotal and probably placebo effect" and it goes right against all my usual strictures and principles - but hey what's to lose ...
only way and it doesn't always work is to avoid going out, not of course possible if one is working. I got them endlessly, sometimes the flu which knocks you over, and found that first it was the office i worked in, then the people who insisted in coming in with bad colds, thus giving to all unsundry.
women and men apparently, i saw a Japanese guy the other day, blazing hot sunshine, minor miracle that, he was wearing a hannibal lecter type mask, very strange.
I have not had a cold for the last four years (at least) and I honestly believe it is because I take a large dose of cod liver oil (in a capsule) every morning and have done for years. I also think that as you go through life you develop an immunity so that by the time you get to my age there are not so many varieties that can attack you. Unless a mutation comes along that I am not immune to I think I shall be able to resist the germs. I also have a flu jab every year to avoid getting the flu. I have had flu in the past and believe me it is a thing to avoid if you possibly can.
