Tingling
3 Answers
Have had a stiff neck , right side, for months and just live with it , but for about a month now I keep getting a tingle in the same area, but it comes and goes, its from the back of the jaw going down the neck, no pain just tingle, feels like a nerve but can't work out why, and I don't know anyone who has had it before so thought I would try here, I am 65 and in pretty good shape

Your right sided stiff neck may well be a protective mechanism against a mild degree of cervical spine degeneration..e.g.cervical spondylosis (wear and tear)
From the upper part of the spine arises a nerve called the Great Auricular Nerve which if irritated gives a tingling sensation in the area that you have described.
You may find improvement in your stiff neck by taking Ibuprofen 400mgms up to every 4 hours (if necessary)
Monitor the situation for the next 2-3 weeks.

Thank you for your reply , I have scoliosis and wear and tear, both in lumbar area but know how to manage that, unfortunately I have a Barratts oesophagus so my doc doesn't like me having too much ibuprofen and I am on iron tabs permanently, all related to a hiatus hernia op, however I can
Try ibuprofen occasionally so will see what happens,
Thanks again
