Just reading up on the cortisone injection - and apparently there are very bad side effects from this - it will be a while before I get it due to waiting times. Would you recommend it for a frozen shoulder. Am doing private physio. Thanks for your opinion.

I had physio for a while before the injection and found that I didn't get any relief. Obviously it may well help you.
My frozen shoulder is now completely cured - just gradually improved over time.
All the best to you.

Conne.......there are side effects for ALL methods of treatment for ALL medical conditions.
Frozen shoulder is, or may be, a difficult medical problem.
If physiotherapy was not working, then i would have little option than to choice an intra-articular injection of cortisone..............with fingers crossed.

I had a cortisone injection for my frozen shoulder. The pain and loss of movement had been going on for about 5 months before I saw a physio, and then I had the injection about 3 months after that. The physio was not what I had expected - I thought it would be massage and manipulation, but all it was was see how far you can move it this month. The injection was painless (he went in thru the back of the shoulder) and there were no side effects. It helped with the pain. If my other shoulder freezes, I think I would ask for the injection early on. The pain and lack of sleep were awful, but unless you have it yourself, you don't realise just how bad it is.
