Going to the hospital on Wednesday for the above. What does an ultrasound on your bladder and kidneys entail?

Depending upon the unit.........it will be an Ultrasound which is non-invasive and will provide X-Ray pictures of your kidneys and ureters.

I would have thought that at this stage an MRI scan would be unnecessary.
Assuming that it's only an external ultrasound scan (which seems to be by far the most likely) it simply involves having some cold gel applied and the sensor passed over your skin.

I had an ultrasound on my kidneys and it was just like any other ultrasound (except a ladies' "internal" one!) I've ever had. It was pretty quick and I just had to turn around a bit so they could see each side.

Mine was done by one of the outsource companies, Care UK, as my GP was worried about some of kidney blood results and urine (blood, white cells, protein etc...)and he told me what he could see though you do tend to get more out of them, same as when I had my gallbladder scan.

No worries trt.

I go to hospital every year for the past nine yrs and have that done!
I have my last one in Sept then my 10 yrs are up. (bladder tumours)
Honestly its a doddle altho I still always feel ambarrassed.
Its fascinating seeing what your bladder look like while looking at a small tele screen. Good luck.
