After a recent chest x-ray my doctor casually mentioned that I have shadows on the LOWER part of my lungs probably caused by heavy manual work when I was younger. I replied that I have never done regular manual work,he immediately changed the subject to the reason for the x-ray which was to determine the reason for lots of pain under the rib cage.
I forgot to ask further details about the shadows so i wonder if anyone has any ideas what can cause them,

"The lower part of your lung".............that probably is the good news.

Many things come to mind......unresolved pneumonia, fluid or any other unresolved infection.

Cancer would be way, way down on my list.

Thanks for your reply Squad,I didn't expect it to be serious otherwise my Doctor wouldn't have been so casual about it.
Your GP was probably reading an X-Ray report which was dictated by the Radiologist...........don't worry, it doesn't seem a big deal.
