Nothing sinister or life threatening comes to mind but anxiety (tension) state or less likely migraine comes to mind.
How much ibuprofen are you taking and have you any current underlying medical problems?

I am a migraine sufferer but this is a different sort of pain - more a sort of nagging achy throbbing. Have been taking 2 x 200mg of ibuprofen four times a day but last night i resorted to taking 3 x 200mg but it had no effect. I am full of catarrh that won't clear - despite steam inhalation several times a day. Could this be sinus pain ??
Maybe you should see the doc?
I suffer with sinus problems and the pain for me is like having parts of my head in a clamp....Is it like that?

Mazie - it defo feels like the back of my head and over my ear on the righthand side is in a clamp - so maybe that is the problem. If it is what do I do to relieve it ? ?
If they are infected you need to see the doc for some antibiotics may.... keep steaming and try some sudafed. Hope you get better soon. x
Have you tried putting Olbas oil in your steaming water, that can help. I know Sqad's the expert and always advocates Ibuprofen but personally I much prefer aspirin for pain relief.
