Tonsillitis Infection!!!

Hey, right now I have tonsillitis and it is killing me!!! I have to have a day off work because of it. Please help how i can remove it, Ive never had it before i tried throat sweets but that won't help.

Ibuprofen 600mgms 4 times a day.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Monitor the situation for 48 hours......you may not need antibiotics.

Not sure that it always needs antibiotics as I think it depends on whether it is viral or bacterial in origin. I could be wrong.
It is painful though, I know. See the GP as mentioned.

Yes I know that, ummm. I am one of the world's leading authorities :-) on the disease, having suffered it at least twice a year until I had the damned things removed aged 21 (a procedure not recommended at such an advanced age).

There is a considerable difference btweeen tonsillitis and a sore throat and I just wondered how Angeletic had made her diagnosis.

I used to get it really bad as well. Painkillers and water wouldn't have solved anything!

Daughter had her tonsils removed years ago. Still has problems which her present doctor says is tonsillitis.
