14 Answers
Hello guys... actually my father age 67, is hypertensive patient he was using amlodipine 5mg daily from last 2,3 years but now his blood pressure was not well controlled, dr increased the dose to 10mg, but he is now experiencing the side effects of amlodipine, that is, swelling in feet and burning sensation... what advice would you give? I think if we decrease amlodipine to 5mg and add losartan 50mg for hypertension??
Please give suggestions, as it is not possible for him to visit GP soon, so any advice???
Thank you all in advance

They probably get short shrift because it is expected students do their own homework. Asking for expert advice is a bit too near getting the answer from someone else and a little too far from knowing the taught subject and doing one's own research to fill in any gaps. Knowledge so given, even if good advice, is less likely to stick in the mind. It's accepted, regurgitated for the tutor/course then forgotten, including the reasons why it is good advice. I'm sure an argument could be made that asking folk is research but that seems more than the thin end of the wedge. This has been a little deceitful.

Guys I don't know what is the issue about homework or research... If I was to ask help on project or homework I would have rather said it, and even if it was I dont see any harm in taking advice or help.
I am a pharmacist by profession, my father was experiencing this side effect which I thought might be due to amlodipine so I thought it'd be better to ask u people to have an idea if my suggestion is right or not.
As with beta blocker option, its not a good one also considering his age.
