Bowel Scope Screening

OH has gone for a routine bowel scope screening tonight. The way he was going on you would have thought he was going to fight the Taliban, I was tempted to put the Vera Lynn records on. Anyone had this done, should I feign concern, get a hot water bottle ready? Or just laugh when he comes back and tell him next time he should come back as a woman and would know what probing was all about?

I've had it done several years ago...mildly sedated and don't remember much about it!

My son had it done. He said it wasn't too bad.
The nurse and doctor will put him at ease.

Echo anne's advice -then you could mention about cervical smears occasionally ... oh! and also investigations when you've had a bit of unexpected bleeding. Just gently, mind.

jourdan2 that was how I persuaded him to go, a graphic account of my latest smear test and last years mammogram, men have it so easy with one less orifice to probe lol! One little tube up their bum and its like the end of the world.

Wolf I might just play that to him when he comes back -apparently he's calling in the pub on the way home so will hopefully be a bit more jolly than when he left .

Well he's back home, they found a polyp 1 cm so he has to go for further investigation and another screening. He said it wasn't that bad and there was no sedation but he was offered gas and air which he did not use (big brave hector) LOL. Oh and he came back with a bloody picture of the thing, I said he should put it on FB like the expectant mothers put their scans on ...
