My husband, 71,had this 10 days ago. He fainted on the first evening, never done before and hasn't felt well since. He was checked out by the GP after the faint, BP etc was Ok. Anybody had a reaction? Am aware it is a new drug.

It's not a known side effect - was he anxious about the injection? http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/vaccinations/Pages/shingles-vaccine-side-effects.aspx
I had it a month or so ago, no reaction at all
If he's come round from the faint - it's better than shingles. Would it be sensible to ring the doctor?
It is not unreasonable to link the "faint " with your husband's injection, even though it has not been reported.

\\\\hasn't felt well since\\\\

Can you expand on that statement?

Sorry Jourdain2 he hasn't been in a faint for 10 days, although this would be very quiet!!
I had shingles a few years ago, it was awful, I think I'd rather give birth. Shingles is very very painful, so even if the vaccine has side affects, it is better than getting shingles. I remember the pain and shiver.

He says he feels uncoordinated.
Well, i would monitor the situation until after Christmas and if there is no improvement, then see you GP again.

Thanks so much Sqad and everyone. His GP has logged it as a possible side effect. He now has gone for a Guiness!!
My husband had the injection last year. He had a very sore and swollen arm and felt generally unwell. Lacked energy and took several days to start feeling better. We did go to the doctor and he was put on antibiotics in case of infection.
