Looks good to me.....
That's just on the high side of normal, so no real problems just watch your weight and a bit more exercise wouldn't hurt!

Thanks Sqad !
Wish mine was that normally
When I was er memorising blood pressure normal values Mickie

it was 100+age systolic - I agree things may change
his should therefore be 160 systolic and his is fine

relative hypotension in the older population is tied to longer life in fact

things change - you are aware that what used to be undoubtedly true in the eighties may now be thought of as complete c+ap.

I also have a mnemoic for systolics for children under ten if you should ever need it....
Mick-the-Miller, you think that is on the high side, I think that reading is brilliant, wish mine was that good.

Well thanks everyone. I will keep an eye on. I am going back to the 5:2 diet after Christmas and will try to take a daily walk.
Mine is usually about this mark...maybe lower on the systolic but not always.Considering last year at this precise time it was 220/110 and I was an emergency admission to hospital i'm thrilled.

My pulse varies between the high 40's to very low 50's though...i'm a reluctant GP go'er so is that acceptable, it does concern me a bit.I'm on Propranolol if that helps with any advice I get. Thanks and sorry Sam for hi-jacking your thread briefly :)
Fusion5 - no, I didn't say it was high - I said it was on the high side of normal, technically called Pre High Blood Pressure.

It's fine, nothing to worry about, but watch your weight, control the amount of salt in your diet, take more exercise and all that other good stuff!

That is fine........that is due to the Propranolol, which is a beta blocker.
Thank you Sqad for reassuring me.I have a home BP monitor and i've had to ban myself from it.I thought I was on the point of collapse each time and I don't jest.Wish i'd asked months ago now ;) x
