Someone I know drinks at least 6 liters of (semi skimmed) milk each day (it's the largest plastic container you get from supermarkets ) - on top of that at least 2 large bottles of chocolate milk a day............... apart from the fat content is this healthy?

depends....what else do they eat and drink? It does sound like quite a lot of sugar.

Woofgang...........Cakes, biscuites and sweets and the only meal a day is curry sauce with chips - the 99p ready meal.....I'm just intrigued more than anything
Firstly, are you certain the first is six litres, have you not been confused by the arcane markings on the largest containers I am aware of: 3+ litres or 6 pints ?

The milk itself is unlikely to do any harm, some would suggest the contrary. As woofgang says, sugar is more of a cause for concern but your information regarding the diet (sum total) is far more extraordinary and seems destined to prescribe some sort of health disaster.

For comparison, I know someone who has never drunk tea of coffee and next to no alcohol but instead milk is the main source of pure liquid. He is not overweight and very healthy and active compared to his peers (I know of nobody among them who is healthier/fitter), takes no medicines of any kind and has a cold once every 3-4 years if that, never has flu. He will be 70 on his next birthday. Oh, and he is hopelessly addicted to good chocolate and eats substantial quantities of it - but, possibly crucially, his diet is balanced with well above average amounts/proportions of fruit and vegetables.
I agree with the two posters above.

We have been through many phases..yest it is....not it isn't.....then again yes it is.........

As for the fat content....just my opinion, but the scientists are still at loggerheads over the association between high fat diet, the metabolism of fat and the association of fat, cholesterol and heart disease.

Another fact...in my opinion is that milk is as good a rehydrator as water.

Just my observations and opinions gained over the years.

Thank you everyone - I was intrigued as this person appears to be eating the "wrong" things as is seldom ill and yet I eat fresh fruit, fresh veg, the best lean meats (minimal), I don't smoke, eat fast fatty foods or drink alcohol and yet in comparison I have cold after cold after virus after virus LOL ......... perhaps I should take up smoking LOL!!
My son drinks at least 4 pints a day plus has cereal & milk a couple of times a day. He has a physical job but does not drink fizzy or sugary drinks just milk. He eats healthy and a lot of it. He is the correct weight for his height. Whilst carrying him I also developed a craving for milk. He is now 24 and from being a 10lb baby born has always drunk milk. He usually drinks full fat milk.
The largest supermarket milk is 3 litres/6 pints.
