Went for a short shopping trip today. When we got home, after about I hour my OH went to bed, said he felt tired and cold and is shaking uncontrollably. Said not to fuss, wanted a couple of paracetamol s and glass of water.
I rang the NHS LINE,the advice was to see GP in the next 3 days, meanwhile keep an eye on things and ring back if need be .
dont know what else to do .
any advice will be helpful as I am worried

Sounds as though he has a viral infection.
As long has he has no pain in his stomach or pressure in his chest, then you have done the right thing.

monitor the situation over the weekend.
If he gets any worse I would take him to A&E.
Does he have any underlying medical conditions ponkie.?
Take his temperature and otherwise the paracetamol and rest will be all you can do - apart from checking now and again. It does sound like the classic symptoms of going down with cold/flu/general virus.

He has now been sick, still shaking though.
has stenosis of the back, which he says is not the problem (?)he has
also found out that he has only one kidney
In view of the additional information ponkie I would get more advice from sqad - when he answered he didn't have the full facts - maybe the advice will be the same but I'd check. Suggest you put a new thread FAO sqad and give him all the facts as he may not come back to the original thread.. I'm probably being over cautious but that's what I'd do.
No, my advice remains the same.
ever the vigilant medical advisor :-)
