My Daughter Suffered Her Second Sudden Pneumothorax. Last Monday.the Tried To Drain It In The Chest But It Deflated Completely. . So They Put A Chest Drain In. The Next Day Someone Took The Drain Out Before Looking At An Xray And The Lung Hadn't Fully Inf

Inflated still. they have,sent her home to hope the,lung will repair itself. She,has,to go back yo the hospital again on Tuesday for another xray I am looking after her and,her three children. she is still in great pain where the drain was and complaining her back by shoulder is hurting. Her,breathing seems Ok. How long before she will feel better and the pain goes.

I don't know why she had her spontaneous pneumothorax, but the commonest cause is an enphysematous bullae associated with smoking and i guess that is the the cause of your daughters problem.
Some resolve without treatment, but usually shortness of breath and pain necessitates the insertion of a drain, to let out the air.
I don't know how long the pain will last, as it depends upon what is the cause. She will have a chest Xray on Tuesday and the result of that will depend upon the next step in her treatment.
Give her Ibuprofen 400mgms for the pain as often as is necessary up to 4 hourly.
