Scary Sensations In Head

Like a twanging rubber band, I say sensation rather than an actual sound I can hear.
Accompanied by a short period of light headedness with each twang.
Been going on since last night, kept me awake worrying for most of it.
I know how ridiculous it sounds, but anyone had anything like it?

OK, I have just noted I asked this last December. And I am definitely stressed at this moment. That must be it.

That sounds very unpleasant, ferlew.
Hope you feel a bit better soon.
Sometimes just knowing that a sensation is stress-related helps as it becomes easier to ignore it.

ferlew It won't help of you are worrying about it so you really need to see your doctor.

Thank you both, went to GP yesterday afternoon, as I was a bit distressed over the phone consultation. She gave me a thorough MOT as she called it.
Heart ok, BP and pulse rate very high, no pressure in head/behind eyes, ears fine...she also says stress, beta blockers to take for a few days and report back, thanks.

Ferlew,...I'm very familiar with that sensation, as will many folk who have ever taken anti-depressants and had to withdraw them by reducing the dose gradually. It's known as "electric shock" sensation.
Have you changed any medication recently?

Bathsheba, my GP swapped me over from Citalopram to Vanlafaxine on 5th August, fishy eh? I will google what you said. :)

Yep, ferlew,...I can almost guarantee that'll be the cause of it.....my GP and even Psychiatrist claim not to know anything about these sensations, but just browse any panic-attack / depression forums and you'll see many references to "head/brain zaps".
