All the ladies assets WILL be looked into in great detail so for her own sake the daughter needs to put the cash back where it came from as she will be responsible for funding her Mothers care if not.

My Mother was in a good care home and I and my sister had knowledge of the set.

One thing you ought to do is turn up unannounced for a look around. A good home will welcome you.

If its a particularly busy time they will invite you to wait. This happened to us, and we took note of the attention to the needs of the elderly residents we encountered.

Good luck, its a very emotional experience but one you know cannot be avoided.

Sandy is not responsible, but I do not know what will happen when the care home need the cash for fees. I suppose that the local authority will refuse to pay for care as they can see that there was money but the daughter has taken it. I assume they will then chase the daughter for the cash.

Sandy, I've not read through all of this, but contact Police as this sounds like fraud. Contact social worker for an assessment and vistit homes in your area. Ask questions, dont be dazzled by the matching curtains and carpets
