Hi, I think I have this.
It developed over the last month or so, intense itching on outside of forearms, not there *all* the time, mostly seems to flare up in the evenings.
It's not unbearable but bloody annoying and I'm not sure why it's suddenly appeared, that's what is worrying me.
I know it's a total no-no to Google health related stuff (as opposed to seeking proper medical advice) but one worry I have is that I read that the cause can sometimes be attributed to a spinal tumor. I do tend to suffer from upper back muscle tension quite a lot, could this be something to do with it?
Any advice gratefully accepted.

Forget it.........a rank outsider diagnosis........1 miilion to 1 chance at best.

Upper muscle back tension and itching, doesn't raise a flag in my mind.

Do you have a rash?...if so can you describe it?

Thanks. Nope, no rash. I did consider some sort of allergic reaction but I haven't been in contact with anything unusual lately.
O.K......"sit on it for a couple of weeks and if yo are worried before then, see your GP.

Nothing "devastating" comes to mind.
AP I know nothing of the medical reasons but if this help you not worry so much - for the last 4 or 5 winters I developed a mad itch in evening and night mainly on inner wrists, back of hands, inner thighs and sometimes upper chest. No rash and I don't have dry skin but it's sometimes so intense I scratch myself raw. I too worried as I'd heard it could be linked to liver problems however it goes away in the Spring. The closest reference to it I can find is the unexplained Winter Itch.
