I've been using this in an attempt to deal with dry, flaky, skin. Apparently you're not supposed to wash it off the skin and you should pat yourself dry with a towel.
I'm now breaking out in a rash of pimples after following these instructions.

Try aqueous cream instead, you can get it very cheaply from chemist or any of the large supermarkets, you can apply it directly or put it in the water.
Try Aloe Vera....replace shower gells soaps etc..use non bio washing liquids ....most of the "normal products" are full of chemical toxins.... that fire up skin allergies...
Sandy. Why not go see gp? They may well give a diagnosis and appropriate treatment. ?

Oilatum is very effective.

The doctor gave me a script for Clobetasone Butyrate, to be used sparingly. Hopefully that'll see off my nasty little rash.
Hope it works sandy -:)
Sandy, I'm dying to know how you feel with your prescribed Clobetasone Butyrate. Is this an aqueous cream?

It wasn't prescribed for the dry skin. For a while the tops of my feet and shins were itching very badly. I tore the skin scratching and something like eczema developed. The cream from the doctor cleared that.
