Are you trying to make him disappear again Anne?
anne that's irrelevant. As lilacben has repeatedly and just said she didn't mean this to be another thread where people can have a go at sqad.
No one is hassling him.
All I can say is that Sqad would be much more valuable to me (and others) if he was a Veterinarian and not just a doctor for humans.

Enjoy your little holiday Sqad - hope that this 'flounce' (I detest that word) is not causing you to get under Mrs Sqad's feet.

nah, I am just easily amused on saturdays
sorry the thread moved on...my answer was in answer to JJ’s question about whether it mattered whether the flounce was short or long.
Well if it's Sqad I'm glad, no matter what he calls himself, why is everyone so worried, it's not a hanging offence!
Girls. It's of no difference to me if sqad remains or not. :-)
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Please take note of Lilacben's plea!!!!
Hi, im not sure if that was 1.5 of oramorph or 15, but whtever is fine. She will most likely need less as time goes on, but please don't stint on it - it's a really helpful drug with the horrible pain tht goes with this procedure.m She is not going t get addicted in a short time

good morning bedknobs, that's great thankyou . I am giving her 1 spoonful which is 5ml..and 2 hours later giving her the p aracetamols and ibuprofen. it says on the morphine bottle ...1 to 2..... 5ml every 2-4 hours as needed. but havent liked to give her 2 so only given 1. and not every four hours prehaps 3 times day??? so do you think I should up the morphine to more each day? thankyou
if she has pain - yes i do. Is the morphine helping at all? it's a tiny dose, don't be scared of it. if you are worried about her being drowsy, try an increased dose at night first as it might give her a better sleep.
ps, watch for constipation
Question Author
thankyou again bedknobs...it is strange because last night I decided to give her 2 spoons morphine at 10.30 and she didn't take any paracetamols/ ibup.until 2.30....then slept ...next ibuprof/paracetamols at 10.30 this morning ....so it was better .... About constipation she suffers from that all the time.....and takes dulcolax each night!! that is one subject i am always telling her about but she will not take any notice.! brenda xx
hi brenda - i think that's the default position of many kids :) Hope she is feeling better today
Brenda you should be giving 1g paracetamol every 4 hours regularly and not just if in pain
add in ibuprofen every six hours ( four times a day ) and the web says the max dose for an adult is 800mg

use oramorph for break thro pain after this

if you find yourself using a lot of ibuprofen then also give ranitidine ( lowers stomach acid ) as well - available over the counter ( in fact they all are xc the morphine )

you are using mls and this makes it unclear - you should be dealing in mg

thankyou again.. I did mean 5ml Medican spoon.
Do you think my daughter should be more mobile yet? it will be 8 days today and 5 days since her drain came out? . she has an appointment to have stitches out with the nurse Thursday . but I cannot motivate her to walk around a bit more or even sit up.. she does come down stairs in the day and lay on the sofa ..walks to the toliet and that's it I have been speading her meds out so she shouldn't be in pain in between. she keeps saying her back hurts....the wound hurts....but told her once stitches out it will feel better .. am I rushing her? thankyou Brenda xx
\\\Do you think my daughter should be more mobile yet?\\\

it would be nice if she were, but at the moment, 9 days post operation, there is no need to worry. Just keep encouraging her to move.

\\\\am I rushing her? \\\

Yes!
